Three Western Michigan Group Representatives Awarded the "Community Impact Award" July 2011: Three Western Michigan Group Financial Representatives were recently awarded Northwestern Mutual's "Community Impact Award." The award, along with a $10,000 donation given by the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, was awarded to the representatives at the Annual Meeting in July. Don DeGroot, Bruce Briney and Ron Bullis have all demonstrated how hard work and volunteerism can change the lives of many. "Bringing these $10,000 checks to our organizations means so much. It's hard to put into words the feelings I had when I delivered the news to them. This money will go a long way to help those in our community." Millennium Triathlon 2011We are pleased to announce that we once again sponsored the 2011 Millennium Triathlon on August 13, 2011. We enjoy working with the Millennium Triathlon and we were excited about our participation again this year. Unfortunately the Triathlon was cancelled due to weather, but we were still able to help the cause! We take seriously the needs of our children in the area and know that this event helps fight the issues they face. Proceeds from the triathlon went to five local charities: Children's Assessment Center, Children's Advocacy Center, Kent County Parks Foundation, Kids Food Basket and the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids. United WayWe are once again proud contributors to the Heart of West Michigan United Way Campaign. Our office is excited to help the United Way in their goal to create positive change and make our great community even better! 2011-The Western Michigan Group Receives "Spirit of Generosity" Award from Heart of West Michigan United Way!

Each month, The Western Michigan Group supports four army service men who are currently serving our country across seas, by sending care packages to them. Our care packages include personal notes, snacks, books, small toys, and trinkets to hand out to children in the area. These packages not only encourage and show our support but also provide some of the luxuries and amenities that they miss from home.
