Each month, The Western Michigan Group supports four army service men stationed in Iraq by sending care packages. Our care packages include personal notes, snacks, books, small toys, and trinkets to hand out to children in the area. These packages not only encourage and show our support but also provide some of the luxuries and amenities that they miss from home.
Western Michigan Group and The United Way
Every year the Western Michigan Group commits to helping Heart of West Michigan United Way with its holiday family outreach initiative. In 2005 the firm held a raffle that raised nearly $3,000, which it used to sponsor two large families (seven and nine members). Working from need lists provided by the families, the Western Michigan Group associates go shopping for gift items and then hold an office wrapping party to prepare the presents. The collection of gifts delivered regularly exceeds the need list requests, as associates go above and beyond with additional donations and items such as grocery store gift cards.
Heart of West Michigan United Way changes lives and builds a stronger community by helping people create solutions to important health and human service issues. Through fundraising, volunteerism and increasing community sufficiency, United Way makes our community a better place to live, work and raise a family.
